Da die Begriffe manchmal verwischen, hier eine schöne Abgrenzung von Clive Shepherd:

3D world = a graphical environment which you can navigate in real-time in glorious 3D
Simulation = an imitation of some real thing, state of affairs, or process’
Game = an activity with a goal and rules, in which the learner competes against others, real or imaginary, or to better their own, previous attainments

Ich denke, mit dieser Pointierung lassen sich die Begriffe nunmehr besser voneinander unterscheiden.
